As blueberries belong to fruits with low glycemic index – and thank to a high content of antioxidants – they contribute to stabilization of blood sugar in patiens with Type 2 Diabetes mellitus. Due to anthocyanins content blueberries also help to prevent from degenerative changes on retina.
